The studio follows MA public school vacation dates. Please be sure you check this page and the studio calendar for vacation weeks during the year.

This studio is one of the ways I support myself as an artist and support other artists in their work. The ability to share music and creativity with others brings me so much joy!

This also means that I'm 100% self-employed. I don’t receive paid vacation, sick days, holidays, health insurance, or any other kind of benefits, except for the artistic, spiritual, and communal ones.

The policies listed here give you and me flexibility with our busy schedules. My time is limited, AND I must be strict about them.

PAYMENT POLICY

  • Payment for all lessons is accepted via credit card ONLY through Acuity Scheduling.  I no longer accept cash or check. 

  • Weekly Youth Lessons are charged as a monthly subscription for all the lessons in the month. This is NOT a per hour or per lesson rate.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

Registration for private lessons is an agreement between the student/parent and teacher to commit to the scheduled lesson times. I have reserved the time for you and cannot give it to another student, so please do your utmost to attend at your regular appointment. If the student/parent fails to abide by these rules, they will be dropped from the studio roster with no refunds. Monthly payments will be immediately stopped.

LESSONS ARE NEVER CANCELLED, THEY ARE ONLY RESCHEDULED. IF YOU FAIL TO RESCHEDULE A LESSON, IT IS FORFEIT.

  • Any student who misses a lesson must reschedule immediately within 5 days of the missed lesson.

  • If lessons are not rescheduled right away, they will not be made up.

  • "No-shows," forgotten lessons, and late cancellations with less than 24hrs notice WILL NOT be made up and you will be charged for the time.

  • Student illness cancellations may be rescheduled within 14 days of the missed lesson as requested.

  • Weather-related school cancellations do not correspond with online lessons unless you or we lose power. If you or we lose power, we will reschedule lessons ASAP. If the studio remains open, attendance is expected as usual and make-ups will not be given.

  • Teacher performance, weather or other emergency emergency, or illness absences will be rescheduled immediately.

ZERO-TOLERANCE POLICY

As an artist of color and a neurodivergent individual, I have a zero-tolerance policy for hate, racism, sexism, or bullying. Students or parents who engage in rhetoric or activities that don't uphold values that respect all ways of living and being will be ejected from the studio.
